South Mississippi viral TikTokers react to possible ban [Video]

GULF COAST, Miss. (WLOX) – The clock is Tik-Toking on Beijing-based parent company ByteDance as it has nine months to sell or face a nationwide prohibition in the U.S. — and some South Mississippians aren’t happy.

TikTok user Matthew Bounds and other local small business owners are disappointed, to say the least, in government leaders.

“If I had any faith left in any of them, it’s gone,” Bounds said. “We have tried every way in the world to get a hold of Senator Roger Wicker and talk to him about how this would impact us, how it’s gonna impact the Gulf Coast.”

Bounds says although he believes he will financially stay afloat if a ban takes effect, he knows South Mississippians who will not.
